Psyllium based fiber supplements can cause problems with the Absorption of certain minerals, namely iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc.**

Components within psyllium bind to minerals in the digestive tract. When the psyllium fiber is eliminated from the body, it takes those minerals with it.
Additionally, psyllium speeds food through the digestive process. Consuming too much psyllium can block mineral absorption because food simply doesn't stay in the digestive tract long enough for your body to extract valuable nutrients.

Fiberrific's action in the body differs from that of psyllium, as does its effect on mineral Absorption. Components within Fiberrific bind to minerals, however Fiberrific is fermented fully in the colon. During the fermentation process all the minerals are freed from the fiber.

Fiberrific slightly reduces the acidity of the colon. The reduced acidity in the colon increases the bioavailability of the minerals, increasing their rate of Absorption.

When Fiberrific is broken down in the fermentation process, one of the resulting constituents is butyrate. Butyrate stimulates the colon's ephelial cells. This stimulation increases their mineral absorption capacity.

The combination of Fiberrific's effects markedly increases the absorption rate of minerals in the body especially calcium, zinc and iron. This is vital for those concerned about osteoperosis, bone health and tooth health.
